Peek Resources

Project Status:  in development
Start Date:  2009-09-15
Finish Date:  0000-00-00

Project Description:

I recently acquired a Peek, and have started playing with the various resources it has to offer. I like how it can not be paired with Google Voice as well as nearly any other email client. I have started playing with applications like Peek Maps, and others and have grown disappointed that there are no text based games for the Peek or other email capable devices. Even simple games, that one can play against a computer while sitting in a terminal waiting for a plane, or other such transport, to arrive.

Additional Details:

I have started with a basic outline, and have created a simple game of Higher/Lower in Perl. Once I workout the email routing mechanism, that game should be available, followed shortly by Tic-Tac-Toe and Hangman (or a variant of Hangman, as the actual ASCII art for Hangman would not be practical on the standard Peek Screen.
2009-12-10 • Thanks to a friend, and much run around with my current hosting site, I have arranged a location where I can start developing the crontab drivable perl scripts to better handle the email client this project will inevitably need. Still a lot of work to do, but the resources are there so... Groovy!
2010-02-05 • This project has been delayed, to focus on other tasks. I believe it is still possible, just not a priority
